From July 18 to July 22 Barcelona hosts the third edition of the Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF 2008), organised by Euroscience and hosted by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació - FCRI).
The ESOF is held every second year, hosted by major science cities in Europe - Stockholm in 2004 and Munich in 2006. The Forums are international and interdisciplinary meetings of scientists, young researchers, politicians, policy-makers, innovators, business people, media and communicators. Its mission is to provide both the European and the international science and business communities with an open platform for debate and communication. It presents and profiles Europe's leading research trends in the sciences, humanities and social sciences.
The Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) participates in this event with a presentation of the Director of International Relations, Dr. Carles Antón. This speech will be devoted to the social impact of next-generation communication systems.
