Up one level
The CTTC is a public research centre that aims to achieve a high degree of self-funding and is open to the participation of other national public or private bodies. It is a professionally managed centre for basic and applied scientific research with an appropriate number of researchers and projects, genuine growth potential and the capacity to take a leading role in technical projects at both national and international levels. The CTTC is also determined to establish long-lasting relations with the industrial and commercial sectors in order to bridge the gap between the universities and industry in terms of research and development. The CTTC makes a visible contribution to the consolidation of the Barcelona area as a technological centre and helps to broaden the Spanish presence in the field of European telecommunications research.

The principal aim of the CTTC is to secure a good international reputation for its scientific and technical work. This reputation is based on its work in the conception, design and development of R&D projects that bring about innovative scientific and engineering results at every level. Finally, the CTTC is a pre- and post-doctoral learning environment that offers excellent facilities for experiments and technological development. The CTTC also aims to share its research activities with the business sector. Its long-term objective is to make a decisive contribution to the regular presence of researchers in the private sector.
