There is a scheme to develop a new Cornellà-Castelldefels metro line in the Llobregat delta area. The line will be 11.42 miles long and have 12 stations, of which five will join with existing lines. Trains will run every five minutes during the rush hour.
The terminal will be at Cornellà’s current station, where two new underground lines are planned, and will connect with :
  • Sant Joan Despí Centre, connecting with local railway lines C3, L3 and C4
  • La Falguera, in Sant Feliu de Llobregat
  • Molí Nou, Plaça Generalitat and Plaça Catalunya in Sant Boi de Llobregat. At the first station, the line will connect with the Llobregat-Anoia line of the FGC and with Plaça Catalunya via the extension of line L1 of the Barcelona metro
  • Viladecans Oliveretes and Viladecans Centre
  • Gavà Centre and Gavà Ponent
  • Canyars, the Mediterranean Technology Park and Castelldefels Platja, in Castelldefels, where it will connect with the local C2 railway line C2
A new tunnel is being constructed and the line will run underground except for the section closest to Castelldefels Platja station. This will allow passengers to travel direct from Castelldefels Platja to the centre of Barcelona and to the Vallès without the need to change lines.
